Array CGH or 60 K molecular karyotype (prenatal)
"The CHG array (aCHG) or molecular karyotype is the diagnostic tool indicated in the case of pregnancies in which there is a precise medical indication that justifies an invasive procedure, mainly when ultrasound alterations are observed.
It has a high resolution across the genome, allowing rapid and reliable detection of even small gains and losses of genetic material, which are impossible to detect with conventional karyotyping. It offers enhanced resolution in syndromic regions.
The 60K array has 60,000 probes and a resolution of 50-100 kb. It can detect more than 200 syndromes and mosaicisms at low rates (>20%).
