The Periodic Fever Panel analyzes 17 genes associated with inherited autoinflammatory syndromes, characterized by recurrent episodes of fever without an infectious cause, accompanied by abdominal pain, arthralgia, rash, serositis, and elevated acute-phase reactants. This study includes major genetic entities such as familial Mediterranean fever (FMF), hyper-IgD and mevalonate kinase (MVK) deficiency syndrome, TRAPS syndrome (TNFRSF1A), NLRP3-associated cryopyrinopathy, NLRP12-associated syndrome, and periodic fevers with neutrophilic inflammation (ELANE). It also covers genes involved in the regulation of anti-inflammatory cytokines such as IL10RA and IL10RB, and innate signaling pathways (CARD14, TNFAIP3, PSTPIP1). Some of the genes included in this panel are: MEFV, MVK, NLRP3, NLRP12, TNFRSF1A, TNFAIP3, ELANE, IL10RA, IL10RB, PSTPIP1, among others.
