The Cardiovascular Clinical Metagenomic Analysis is performed using the latest generation massive sequencing metagenomic techniques on blood samples anticoagulated with EDTA.
Without the need for a prior hypothesis, it detects any microorganism in the cardiovascular system (causing diseases such as endocarditis, myocarditis, pericarditis, nosocomial bacteremia, sepsis, Lemiere's syndrome, etc.), as well as their resistance to antibiotics and antifungals. If there are complex infections, all the microorganisms that compose it can be detected simultaneously.
The analysis is accompanied by a report made by laboratory physicians. This report indicates whether or not there are infections, and if positive, whether there is resistance to antibiotics and antifungals.
